The Best Places to Apres in Lake Tahoe
Après just might be our favorite time of the day in Tahoe. In the winter it means, kicking off our ski boots and sitting by the fire with a warm drink. As the weather warms up, lakeside après with our toes in the sand or around an outdoor table with friends at our favorite restaurant becomes the location of choice. Regardless of the time of year though, we’ve put together a list of our favorite Tahoe spots to après. Cheers!
Moody's Bistro in Truckee

Here in Truckee, we’ve got lots of fantastic options in and around our historic downtown. Moody’s Bistro is a great stop if you’re in the mood for a craft cocktail and a farm-to-table snack. Whether you sit outside in their colorful chairs or inside at their cozy bar, you’ll love you’re après experience here.
Old Town Tap in Truckee

Next up is another Truckee locals’ favorite, Old Town Tap. They have lots of delicious cocktails and countless beer and wine on tap, but regardless of what you choose you’ll want to make sure you order some of their famous fried cheese curds. Or, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, they offer soft serve ice cream with toppings like olive oil & seat salt and pistachio.
Village at Northstar

If you’ve finished a day of skiing or golfing (or even shopping) around the village at Northstar California, you don’t have to go far for your après fun. If it’s wintertime, we absolutely recommend ice skating in the center of the village and relaxing by a fire pit to end your day. You should also make sure to stop at Petra Restaurant & Wine Bar whether you swing through to grab a bottle to go or, better yet, grab a chair and taste a glass of wine from their impressive wine list.
Pier Hopping on the West Shore

Maybe you’re spending the day on a boat on Lake Tahoe and you don’t want to get off the lake for your après? Only open in the summer, Chambers Landing sits on a dock over the lake with plenty of parking for your boat. This historical spot is a summertime must stop. Another great spot along the West Shore is Sunnyside. While they do have great drink options, everyone really comes for the fried zucchini and the views.
Craft Brewery in Truckee & Incline Village

If a day of hiking to your favorite beach on the east shore is more your speed, why not stop off in Incline Village? One of our favorites stops is Alibi Ale Works. With two locations in Incline Village (and one in Truckee too!), you’ll have plenty of chances to taste their craft beers brewed from Lake Tahoe water.
Garwoods in Carnelian Bay

And, for that quintessentially Tahoe happy hour, we can’t forget to recommend that you make your way to Gar Woods in Carnelian Bay for an après Wet Woody. You haven’t really been to Tahoe until you take in the beautiful Lake Tahoe view from their restaurant and bar. With views from both their indoor seating and outdoor deck, this is a must stop to take in a beautiful sunset over the lake.
